Guided Instruction (CGI) Professional Development Calendar.
CGI Professional
Development Institute
A three day institute designed to help teachers understand how children's mathematical
ideas develop, fostering algebraic reasoning in the elementary grades and providing students opportunities to build on their
own thinking.
Dates: March 5-7, 2012
CGI Saturday Professional Development Series
The
Saturday events will engage participants in greater depth around CGI. February's session will look at using Equal Share
and Equal Groups to support students' understanding of fractions. March's session will spend the day exploring number
sense and the introduction to place value and equality for students 4-7. Participants are welcome to attend one or both
events. Dates: February 25, 2012 and March 10, 2012 CGI for Non-Beginners InstituteTeachers
of grades K-5 who have participated in CGI professional development, have tried implementing CGI in their classrooms, and
seek to refine their practice around Cognitively Guided Instruction are encouraged to apply. June 26-28, 2012
CGI Speaker Series
An evening of dinner and CGI for educators to network with others and deepen their
understanding of CGI.
